Coaching Agreement
Congratulations on making this fantastic decision for yourself!
Most people spend months – sometimes years – knowing they need this.
You did it! And I’m so excited for you.
This document covers everything you need to know before we get going – what coaching actually is, how it works, what to expect from me, and what I’ll need from you.
So, what actually is coaching?
Short version: it’s a collaborative process that helps you get crystal clear on what you actually want, and then gets you moving towards it.
It’s not therapy. We’re not spending hours unpacking your past (although we can certainly touch on where patterns come from). We’re looking at where you are right now, where you want to be, and building the bridge between the two.
How will I help you get there?
I bring my training and professional skills to every single session we have together. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- I listen. Really listen. Never to judge – always to understand.
- I ask the questions that make you think differently. (You might not always love me for it. You’ll thank me later.)
- I motivate, challenge, and support you – every step.
- I share tools, resources, and real information.
- I help you get clear on what you actually want – not what you think you should want.
- We co-create structures that support you between sessions, not just during them.
What do my most successful clients have in common?
They’re not starting from some perfect place. But they are:
- Willing to ask hard questions – of themselves and of the process
- Ready to tell the unexaggerated truth, even when it’s uncomfortable
- Holding a vision of something better, even if it’s not fully formed yet
- High-functioning people who know they have more in them – and are done with waiting to find it
What will we actually work on?
Everything you want more of – and less of.
More of: action, joy, confidence, balance, energy, motivation, clarity, freedom, courage, abundance, peace, fun, time, money.
Less of: fear, frustration, boredom, resentment, guilt, doubt, confusion, overwhelm, exhaustion, indecision, emotional and financial problems.
Can we really do all that?
Not without you. This isn’t a shortcut-to-happiness programme. It’s more like a gym – I’m your personal development trainer. I provide the equipment, the environment, and the expertise. But you have to show up and do the reps.
So yes. We absolutely can do all of that, and more. But we do it together.
The practical stuff
Rescheduling
Our sessions are a priority for both of us. Life happens – I get it. But please give me 24 hours’ notice if you need to move a session, or I reserve the right to charge. I’ll always give you the same courtesy. Sessions start at the agreed time, on the Zoom link I’ll send you.
Lateness
If you’re more than 10 minutes late without contact, I’ll assume the session is cancelled and you’ll forfeit it. Respecting your own time starts here.
Running over
I build in 1.5 hours for every session – so our standard hour always has breathing room. If something needs a bit longer, great. If I’m up against something, I’ll say so. Please do the same.
Between sessions
Something big happened? Got a win? Hit a curveball? Text (077 077 077 93) or email (kirsten@shineontribe.co.uk). I want to know. That’s part of it!
Confidentiality
What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions. Always. I need you to feel completely safe to tell me the truth – the real, unexaggerated truth. I’m ready for it.
I might use stories or things that come up in sessions as case studies or social posts because this helps followers and potential clients – I ALWAYS change names and key details. If you’d prefer I didn’t do that with our sessions – just let me know.
Referrals
When you start seeing results – and you will – please share your experience with the people in your life who need it. It’s the biggest compliment you can give me.
Session etiquette
Give yourself the gift of our time together. Find somewhere quiet, close the door, and be present. You deserve that.
My commitments to you
As your coach, I commit to:
- Exploring every issue you bring with curiosity, not judgement – always focused on getting you the results you want
- Partnering with you to build real strategies that move you forward
- Continuously developing my own skills so I always bring you the best of what I know
- Operating to the highest professional standards, in line with the International Coach Federation code of ethics
- Supporting you, championing you, challenging you – and yes, sometimes giving you homework
By attending your sessions you agree to be bound by these terms.
